The entire process of PLA coating is the extrusion coating of polylactic acid. It is similar to the process principle of PE coating, which involves coating melted plastic onto paper through an extruder.

It is a new type of bio based, biodegradable material mainly derived from renewable plant resources such as corn and cassava (rather than petroleum). The starch in these plants undergoes a series of processes such as saccharification, fermentation, and polymerization to ultimately produce PLA granules.

Therefore, PLA coated paper is an environmentally friendly composite material of "paper-based+bioplastic".
